1. Your Favorite Snacks

The week of your period isn’t the time to start that new diet you heard about on Instagram. Have a stockpile of your favorite snacks at the ready to keep your body happy and well-nourished during your period. Cravings are a natural part of your cycle, so don’t try to ignore them. Reach for some dark chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth but still give you a boost of antioxidants.


2. Heating Pad

If you struggle with cramps, a heating pad or heated blanket will be your new best friend. The heat will relax the muscles in your stomach and uterus to provide relief from cramps. There’s nothing better than curling up on the couch with a heating pad and your favorite movie.


3. Warm Tea

A good cup of tea is soothing for so many reasons. Raspberry leaf tea, in particular, has been used for centuries to promote women’s health. This tea is full of important vitamins and minerals that will make your body happy.


4. Magnesium Supplements

Magnesium is a vital mineral that most of us don’t get enough of. Magnesium supports a lot of body functions, including healthy egg development in women. The mineral also helps your muscles relax, which can alleviate strong cramps.


5. A Yoga Mat

Exercise is probably the last thing on your mind during your period, but some light movement (such as yoga) during your cycle has a lot of benefits. So grab your yoga mat and do some light stretching.

Candles or incense won’t have a lot of physical benefits while you’re on your period, but they will help you relax and make you feel good which is honestly what we all need during that time of the month. Try getting a lavender scent which will help you stay relaxed and calm any mood swings.
